Job Title: Aquaculture Manager of Floating Upweller Systems Company: Thetis Acquacoltura Location: Veneto, Italy Thetis Acquacoltura is a leading aquaculture company specializing in the growth of shellfish seed for the Italian market. Our mission is to provide high-quality and sustainable seafood products to our customers while preserving the natural environment. Responsibilities: - Primary duty is to take care of millions of juvenile shellfish growing inside the floating upweller systems. - Planning and coordination of nursery activities to achieve production goals. - Supervision of flupsy personnel. - Maintenance of high standards of hygiene, biosecurity and safety. - Accurate recording of production, inventory and flupsy activities. - Collaboration with the board of the Directors to develop, innovate and refine production techniques and assist with the construction and maintenance of production systems. - Strong communication and leadership skills. - Prior management experience, preferably in aquaculture. - A degree in marine biology/ natural sciences/ aquaculture/ biotechnology would be considered an asset. - Must be able to work a flexible schedule depending on production. - Working knowledge of English. Knowledge of Italian is a plus, but not necessary. This is a full-time position with a contract offer being given following successful completion of the probation period. Primary location is the region of Veneto Italy, specifically areas between Chioggia and Porto Viro. The start date is immediate.
