Workplace The FBK Center for Sensors and Devices, (FBK-SD) is an applied research center that operates in the following scientific and technological areas: materials and interfaces, devices and microsystems, integrated systems. FBK-SD has extremely advanced technical know-how in applied materials science, as well as innovative detector design and fabrication technologies. The strategic mission of FBK-SD is scientific excellence combined with the ability to exploit research results. To promote the inclusion of disabled staff as per law 68/99, the Foundation is available and interested in evaluating the applications received for technical-scientific domains that do not correspond exactly to this call Job Description FBK-SD is looking to hire a 50% FTE Researcher to increase the interdisciplinary capacity and carry out focussed novel research within the SD Center in particular towards the Quantum Humanities. The candidate will be working in the Program Management Group (PMG) unit of FBK-SD. The PMG is planned to be a high value support to Center Sensors & Devices and related research lines activities and results as well as to nurture novel lines of research. Its role is: to support and implement the Center’s strategy; to support the unit’s activities in project writing and management; to implement units’ collaboration by common projects and activities; to help in dissemination of results. The successful candidate will contribute to the following tasks: Be a leading actor in the SD Center on cross center activities and interdisciplinary activities; Lead research activities on Quantum Society and on the Quantum Humanities and in looking at the social anthropological aspects of the Sensors & Semiconductor ecosystems; Provide an ethical and gender reference for within the SD Center; Plan, prepare, implement and coordinate the submission process in particular of EU funding proposals; Identify strategic needs and potential project concepts which can have a high success rate from throughout the range of scientific activities carried out across the SD Center; Integrate strong and coordinated policy & advocacy components in the planned project proposals, in alignment with the SD Strategy program; Collaborate in the publication, communication and dissemination activity, increasing the presence of the SD center; Supporting the head of PMG group and the SD direction to simplify the smooth and efficiency running of the Center; Expectation that half of the role will be directly engaged in the research and the other half in reinforcing the strategic direction of the SD Center. Job Requirements The ideal candidate should have: PhD degree in the social sciences, or a relevant/equivalent research experience; Research outcomes in topics close to the Quantum Humanities, Ethics & Gender; Strong experience in the communication of science; Research experience in technology transfer into society; Expertise in qualitative (field work, ethnography, etc) and quantitative research methods; Strong intercultural communication skills; Excellent English & Italian skills (written and spoken). Any other language is an advantage; Strong sense of curiosity and willingness to learn and develop; Teamwork approach, good communication and relational skills; Strong orientation to results, determination, flexibility and aptitude for problem-solving. Employment Type of contract: fixed term contract; Working hours: Part-time 50% (19 h per week); Start date: January 2025; Duration: 30 Months; Work Place: Povo, Trento (Italy); Gross annual salary: about € 41.475,00 - € 50.000,00 depending on background and expertise in the field.Compensation to be adjusted proportionally to the hours worked (19 h per week / part time 50%).
