Position: Solution Engineering Manager
Experience: Minimum 5 years in the technical management of complex integrated Transportation programs/projects.
Role Overview:
The Solution Engineer Manager role requires sound technical knowledge of all the main technologies and subsystems used to implement IT, Telecom, and Security services, as well as an understanding of how these subsystems are integrated and the operational scenarios.
Main Activities:
- Responsible for all technical activities: identifying and analyzing requirements, defining architecture, allocating requirements to system components, defining interfaces, developing solutions, integrating, verifying, validating, and qualifying the system.
- Ensure conformity with requirements, quality, performance, customer satisfaction, budget, and schedule relevant to the Engineering package.
- Plan, control, and coordinate all technical activities.
- Propose technical solutions and general network architecture.
- Oversee configuration management activities and solution integrity.
- Provide support for deployment/installation and site acceptance activities.
- Ensure coordination and communication among various players in technical activities and a smooth transition to the Installation and Commissioning organization.
- Act as the main technical interface for the Customer Counterpart.
- Coordinate with the technical Customer Counterpart according to contractual requirements.
- Participate in Program/Project Meetings as scheduled or requested.
- Compile reports according to internal reporting procedures.
- Draft official letters and correspondence to be sent to the Customer.
- Coordinate and control different Vendors and Subcontractors.
- Apply Quality procedures and HSE procedures and instructions of the team.
- Review the technical Scope of Work, keep the scope baseline updated, and inform the PM and Contract Manager.
- Propose variation requests to the PM for submission to the Customer.
- Support the Contract Manager in preparing Claim Files.
- Approve all technical documentation to be submitted to the Customer.
- Support the Purchasing Department in defining subcontracts and standard clauses.
- Plan and conduct Program/Project reviews in line with company standard processes.
- Knowledge of System Engineering discipline and processes.
- Professional experience in managing Customer and Supplier relationships.
- Capability of coordinating resources in an international context.
- Fluency in Italian and English.
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in designing complex integrated Transportation Projects.
- Availability to travel.
- Experience in design, integration, and validation of systems such as Communication Systems, Tramway Signalling Systems, Video Communication Systems, Security Systems, and SCADA.
- Basic knowledge of Cybersecurity and Information Security.
- Experience with Virtualized architectures.
